The professing church? Please help me understand what it is.?

So, I know this family that is part of this church. The women in the family all wear skirts. Every day. And they don't have TVs in their house. One of the guys had a thing with my best friend for a while, and he ended up ending it by ignoring her kinda. And i saw in his facebook info that he is "professing". So just creeping for my friend, I googled this and couldn't really find much about what the church was. I know they have weekly meetings in someones house, and the dress code thing fits with this family, but i don't know anything else. Oh, but i also read they stay away from "worldy people". Didn't know if maybe he wasn't allowed to date someone outside of his beliefs. Please help me understand. Thanks in advanced. Other than that though, they seem normal...
