Is this a good thesis statement for Romeo and Juliet and fate?

Fate can be two sided, it may bring one happiness and joy, while bringing despair and sorrow to another. In the tale of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo attempts to defy his own fate and take control of destiny. Due to his blindness and reckless love, his actions backfire and drag him down to his inevitable fate; a fate that he tried so hard to avoid. Eventually, fate will always win. There's no escaping destiny, and each action taken is merely a step closer to what is truly to be.
